It’s Monday morning and I wanted to kick off the week with some positivity by revisiting a memory of mine.
Two years ago, I came to New York City in December for my annual holiday/shopping trip. I always went to the touristy places (year after year), so of course I had to stop by Rockefeller Center. Right before I decided to leave, I saw the ice rink beginning to clear out with the exception of a couple. It turned out that the man had rented out the ice rink for a couple of minutes so that he could propose to his girlfriend. It was the sweetest thing I had ever seen and it reminded me that chivalry isn’t dead. Every now and then I remind myself of this cherished memory and every now and then I think about that couple - Two complete strangers, yet, I hope that they are doing well.
It’s magical moments like those that remind me of why I love New York City so much. Only one. Only New York.
